Structure

The Breathing Apparatus Training Gallery can be a stationary installation or e.g. be installed in a moveable container.

Control system

The control system is needed for visualization, surveillance of trainees and the control of simulation and security devices.

Maze

The maze comprise the need of the customer for his use case. Floor panels usually made of wood with a structured rubber lining to make them durable and non-slip and equipped with a step control system for connection to the PLC, so the instructor can locate the trainee on the touch screen.
Where a floor has to be changed throughout the maze path, the following installations can be used: Manhole, spiral staircase, inclined plane or a ladder
For physical stress of the trainees, the maze can be equipped with obstacles installed within the maze path: Manhole, tunnel, beam, doorfloor ladder, half grid, plastic curtain or a sliding grid.

Simulation devices

• Noise stress:
  The sound of fire, screaming people etc. is play backed in the maze room via two loudspeakers, installed at suitable position. Player is to be mounted in the control desk.
• Smoke machine:
  A smoke generator is installed inside the maze room to produce artificial smoke. A water based smoke liquid is used instead of an oil based, in order not to have oily deposits on the floor panels and thus to prevent slipping. Control switches installed in the control desk.
• Ceramic heater:
  A ceramic heating system, mounted in a steel frame and connected to a wall grid outside the maze path, for heat stress. Control via touchscreen.

Safety features

• Orientation lamps:
  Mounted within the maze at appropriate position to give assistance to the trainees when they get lost. Operation via touchscreen.
• Ventilation fan:
  For exhausting smoke and cooling down the maze room, switch installed in control desk
• Emergency stop switch:
  The control system shall comprise of an emergency stop switch. By pressing, all simulation devices are switched off; room light inside the maze room and ventilation is switched on.

Surveillance

• Thermal imagine camera:
  To observe the movements and behavior of the trainees even when the room is full of smoke, a thermal imagine camera shall be installed inside the maze. To be able to follow their steps, it shall be installed upon a pan and tilt head, mounted on a lift to change floors. Operation: via joy stick, installed in control desk.
• Intercom:
  Within the maze room, microphones are installed to observe the trainees. For speaking loudspeakers of noise stress shall be used. Headset comprising of earphones and microphone can be installed to the control desk for the use of the instructor. When speaking, noise stress must be switched off for the trainees to hear the words of the instructor. Installation and operation: control desk.
• Step contact system:
  By the step contacts installed inside the floor panels, the instructor can locate them on the touchscreen on a visualized scheme of the maze.
