Structural Fire - Fire House (Fixed and modular or mobile and containerized)
Building a functional Fire House is not as easy as it may first appear. One of the most underrated problems is the effect of the thermal shock caused by repeated and frequent high heat cycles. This can lead to very early degradation of the structure of the Fire House. We use only tried and tested specialist materials and designs to ensure that our Hot Fire Training Systems continue to function for an extended period. We are on the safety side, in Europe at least, a specific standard refers to “Interior Fire Places” - DIN 14097 Part 2. We believe that this standard should be regarded as a minimum requirement and design the performance of our internal Fire Training System to exceed this specification. A wide variety of fire training props can be installed in the structure such as stairwell fire, kitchen fire, sofa fire, curtain fire, bed fire and wardrobe fire. For example a gas meter prop is designed with a ball valve. Isn’t that closed the fire cannot be extinguished. Computer controlled selection of the Fire Scenario can enable the fire to grow and spread, perhaps even to an upper floor or even enable a Flashover should incorrect technique be applied. We differentiate between a Rollover and a Flashover, the general public intermixes these terms. Clear monitoring of the trainees in terms of location, performance and vital signs should all be included. We have developed a trainee surveillance software with chip reading systems transferring all personal data of an trainee to the control screen, including telemetric systems for pulse frequency and physical constitution. Full visual surveillance via thermovision cameras displayed on screens in the control room comply the full information about any training session. The Fire House itself may take the form of a fixed structure or be a modular design, a build-up of especially designed containers which fit together. Is space for a Fire Training System limited, such as for a containerized or mobile unit it is particularly important to get the design right to incorporate as many training features as possible without compromising safety. The Firebird Fire Training System is fully mobile and may be installed on the back of a trailer.
Highway & Vehicle Fire Trainers
Our modern multi-lane road systems with its high traffic density pose a high hazard capability. Many vehicles are travelling at quite high speeds with a wide variety of vehicle types and cargos. These cargos can vary from highly flammable fuels, toxic chemicals and even explosives and radioactive materials. A deadly cocktail in a multiple pile-up. The First Responders must be trained to quickly identify the potential hazards, contain the situation and save life. Two incidents are never the same and the priorities of the First Responders must change to suit the situation. They must be trained to be able to do this in an instant. A full Highway Trainer will consist of multiple vehicles of differing types which may be relocated to differing locations to train for the many differing types of accident scenario. Firefighting, extrication techniques and first aid training should be included. At the simplest level, we can provide a single vehicle for fire training. For example, the Civil Defense or Training organization may decide to order one vehicle type initially and then expand to a series of vehicle types over a period. The result will be a safe, realistic and fully variable Highway Training System. It will save lives.
